The Himlung Himal Quest

NIS Expedition Team - Grenoble, France

An expedition, sponsored by the Network Infrastructure Solutions service line within Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, departed on April 15th, 2001 to the Himlung Himal summit, 7126 meters high, in Nepal.

Steep slopes, a solid team, a dream and a lengthy preparation …that's all it takes to

reach the top! After twelve months of preparation, a new dream is coming true. They are leaving to climb and venture under risky and life threatening conditions.

A team of mountaineers composed of four women and six men will fly away to Kathmandu, Nepal. Not just a simple visit into the capital city, but a journey to one of the highest mountain tops of the Himalayas. The Himlung Himal is located on the edge of the Mustang, on the border between Nepal and Tibet. They will reach the top by following the eastern part of the Annapurna Trek and then the Nar valley, remote and isolated. In 1992, a team of Japanese climbers exploited this summit. more >>
